Well it is finally charging day so a great time to leave my review for my Vivoactive .
I've been using the Garmin Vivoactive 5 for a while now, and it has truly exceeded my expectations in several key areas. One of the standout features for me is the impressive battery life. It's amazing not having to worry about constant charging, especially during long workouts or busy days.
The comfort and lightness of the watch make it a joy to wear all day. It's so lightweight that I often forget I have it on. The design is sleek and minimal, adding to the overall comfort and making it suitable for any occasion.Ease of use is another big win for the Vivoactive 5. Navigating through the menus and accessing different features is incredibly intuitive. Even the built-in coach feature, although I haven't explored it fully yet, adds another layer of functionality that I'm excited to try in the future.
The activity and sleep tracking capabilities have been a game-changer for me. It's like having a personal assistant dedicated to my health and fitness goals. I particularly appreciate the accurate rep count during workouts – it's a small detail that makes a big difference in my training routine.
One aspect that sets this model apart for me is the absence of calls and texts. It helps me stay focused on my activities without unnecessary distractions. It's a thoughtful inclusion that aligns perfectly with my fitness mindset. However, if I were to nitpick, the only area I find lacking is the variety of watch bands. I hope Garmin considers introducing more fun and interchangeable bands in the future. It would be a fantastic way to customize the look and feel of the watch.

Overall, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a fantastic product that has seamlessly integrated into my daily life. It's reliable, user-friendly, and packed with features that enhance my fitness journey. I'm excited to see what future updates and band options Garmin has in store. Highly recommended. After extensive research my wife and I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive 5. It's now been a couple months wearing them 24/7 and we are extremely pleased! The watch is a precision instrument that reliably measures so many body metrics as well as fun things like the weather, emails and text messages, that you can also respond to. The brilliant display is absolutely beautiful and battery life is stellar. We charge once a week on Sunday mornings and there is always 30% or more charge left so the manufacturer's claim of up to 11 days is pretty close. The GPS feature will drain the battery quicker, but it is only used on specific settings where distance and a tracking map is desired. We chose the Vivoactive 5 over the Garmin Venue 3 because it is thinner, lighter, and smaller. We did not need the microphone, speaker, and EKG feature on the Venue, also the heart rate sensor on the vivoactive 5, although not as elaborate as the Venue, is still state of the art and functions flawlessly. We are 100% glad we chose the vivoactive 5 over everything else we looked at. The health benefits of having this watch have been substantial for us. Being able to actually look at graphs and charts of sleep patterns, hydration, heart rate, stress, etc etc have given us great insight into adjusting our daily life. We really appreciate the technology, ease of use and the quality built-in by Garmin.

I’m someone who really really did not want a watch of any sort, especially not an Apple Watch or anything else that is bloated with unnecessary hardware that needs to be charged every single day. Charging a phone every day is enough of a pain without needing to add any other junk, so no thanks to the useless gimmick-loaded “smart” watches. But I really needed to do fitness tracking because without some sort of gadget I just have zero idea how lazy or not lazy I’ve been lately and whether or not I need to get at least some minimal exercise. And my #1 must have feature is week-long battery charge life. This watch is good enough, even though the battery life might be more like 5 days in some cases if you’re using it for activities a lot where the gps is turned on. But for those not running with the gps every day or constantly tinkering with it a full battery charge seems to last a week. That is, charge it for an hour on Sunday and no need to charge it again until the same time next Sunday. You could get the battery to last longer if you’re willing to shut off absolutely everything that might use more power.

I started out with a Garmin vivosmart 5 because I didn’t think I needed anything beyond that, but I have sleep problems and decided I needed better sleep tracking. So I ended up with this one even though I don’t really care about random silly “apps” on a watch.Overall this watch has been excellent. It has a very good UI and the fitness tracking features a quite good. The sleep tracking is decent, but still has its issues that hopefully Garmin will fix with software updates. In particular the “nap tracking” doesn’t seem fully baked yet, and things like laying back in a recliner reading a book or watching TV can get falsely detected as a “nap”. Then there’s no way to delete a false nap on the watch or in the Garmin Connect app. There are still a few minor bugs that some people will run into but they seem to be things that can be fixed with firmware updates and I haven’t run into anything completely feature-breaking.
If you feel like messing with it you can also install some “apps” like custom watch face designs or sunset/sunrise times, more detailed weather and such. But even without installing anything the watch does everything needed for health and fitness stuff.

Almost all of the apps that come with the device can be uninstalled, so if you don’t need “women’s health tracking” for example then you can just remove that to free up space.Their mobile app is pretty well designed and only awkward in some parts of the configuration. The watch reliably synchronizes as long as you leave the phone app running in the background and I’ve never had any Bluetooth connection failures, lag, or lost pairings.Things that the watch is not good for are things that you’d typically use a phone for like communication, turn by turn navigation, maps, games, and such. But I don’t want a watch to do any of that stuff and I’d rather have it save its battery charge so I don’t have to charge it constantly. So overall, this is “the” watch you want if you want as little nonsense as possible and don’t want to worry about battery charge all the time but still need full health and fitness tracking stuff beyond what the $75-150 models offer. And there are also no subscriptions required.
I bought the watch because I was tired of charging my Apple Watch everyday. Let me tell you it was worth the money. THIS WATCH BATTERY LASTED 10 DAYS! The watch is cute, measure vO2 max and HRV. Does not however measure flights climbed which is a bummer. The set up is very straightforward as is the app. There are tons of challenges to choose from on the app, which I like. It keeps you motivated to move more. I am very happy with my purchase and in my opinion it is worth the money so far. Disclaimer: I am writing this review after only a couple weeks of owning the watch so I cant specify the long term durability.
