The chair does not lean back and when it does it is unexpected and throws you back. I attempted to return the item but being that it is defective I am not able to disassemble the item. Amazon is not allowing me me a refund unless I return it. The item is TOO large to return if it not able to be disassembled. Amazon does not care that I can not disassemble the defective item and literally told me to “figure it out”. This is by far the worst customer to date that I have received from Amazon. I was hung up on 4 times by 4 different supervisors. Jason, Brent, Gemma, and Jennifer. All who just repeated the policy and then hung up when I asked how would I ship if it does not disassemble. The worst customer service ever. Assembly instructions were straightforward with the illustrations, the size and number of fasteners at each location. It took me 40 unhurried minutes to get it unboxed and fully assembled. I like the T-handled wrench for this type of assembly. The steel stampings seem pretty thick, so I think that mechanically it should last a good while. Getting the back on was quite simple; I left all the fasteners loose as per the instructions, and just laid the chair on first one side and then the other.
I give it four stars overall, simply because I don't know yet how well the faux leather is going to hold up and continue to look good. Fit and finish of the upholstery is quite good for this price point, no pooched seams or the like. It's quite comfortable, reasonably firm. The back is high enough that I can lean my head back and my neck remains straight.
The lumbar support feels good. The arms are just the right height for me to rest my elbows on them and type. I'm 195 lbs. and the seat is plenty wide, arms well spaced. I would easily recommend it to a friend. The chair arrived even earlier than scheduled. It was fairly easy to assemble and has a sturdy build. The soft material is comfortable and it looks like a more expensive chair. It's narrower than I thought it was, so I wouldn't recommend it for a large person. But so far I'm pleased with this purchase. This chair is amazing at its price point, chairs this nice can easily be double the cost. Easy to assemble, less than 30 minutes. Very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap in any way whatsoever. I'm 6'2 and the high back is a nice fit to rest your head back on. Some of the reviews highlight damaged parts or minor things that do not even really factor into the overall quality of this chair but if you carefully inspect the product upon opening and if there is something not right return it and get a new one because manufacturing defects happen from time to time and this chair is awesome.
